DIABETIC WOUND
Most diabetic patients suffer from poor blood circulation. Prolonged healing time of the wound on the foot surface is a sign of blood circulation disorder. Even the smallest injuries can easily become infected if the necessary treatment measures are not taken. Deep ulcers occur and in some cases may lead to amputation.

PlasmaDerm® activates wound healing

PlasmaDerm®
PlasmaDerm® activates wound healing, accelerates blood circulation, has an antimicrobial effect without creating resistance, and is effective even against very resistant microbes such as MRSA.

Therapeutically Active Ingredients
The cold plasma produced by PlasmaDerm® devices acts by the combination of a therapeutically relevant electric field, low irradiation in the useful UV-A and UV-B wavelength range, and activated gas particles (molecules) from ambient air. PlasmaDerm® is the first medical device to synergistically combine a series of well-characterized, therapeutically active ingredients in a single piece of equipment.

The electric field used in PlasmaDerm® therapy is based on high-frequency alternating current. Unlike electric fields often used in medicine, the alternating current field has a sustainable deep stimulating effect on the treated skin and wound areas. Deep stimulation increases blood microcirculation in the skin, which increases the supply of the wound with oxygen and nutrients. In short, PlasmaDerm® therapy activates wound healing power.

PlasmaDerm® has a reliable antimicrobial effect and is effective even against very resistant problem microbes such as Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Indications
The primary indications for PlasmaDerm® treatment are venous and arterial ulcers, pressure sores, and chronic wound healing disorders such as diabetic foot syndrome.

Deep stimulation with an electric field and the resulting stimulation of blood microcirculation ensures a better supply of the scar tissue with oxygen and nutrients. Topically active plasma components reliably reduce microbial density in the wound bed.

The combination of deep-acting stimulation of microcirculation and topical microbe reduction activates wound healing power.
PlasmaDerm® therapy can also be used on wounds other than the examples mentioned above; for example, poorly healing surgical wounds.

Therapy Recommendations
To achieve optimal results, PlasmaDerm® treatment should be repeated two to three times a week for two to three weeks. Therapy may be extended on a case-by-case basis and depending on the indication. The application is simple and fast. The recommended treatment time is 90 seconds per cm² of skin surface.
